Member Recruitment

We usually start the member recruitment in the fall semester. In 2022, we have decided to set up two types of membership: Junior Analyst and Senior Analyst.

As a Junior Analyst you will have the opportunity to simulate the real workplace environment in which you work in small teams to complete projects related to market research, asset allocation, portfolio management. You will also have the opportunity to attend multiple workshops to learn about practical financial knowledge.

What we are looking for:
● Enthusiasm and passion towards the financial industry and markets (no prior experience needed!)
● Willingness to communicate with team members and learn from others
● Hardworking and committed to the task at hand
● Able to commit 4 hours per week

As a Senior Analyst, you will be required to lead your team of 5 throughout your 2022-23 Traders@UST journey. This means constructing comprehensive financial strategies, delegating tasks to your juniors, providing them with feedback, and most importantly allowing the junior analysts to have a voice in discussions as well. Senior Analysts will also have a chance to form a group with other senior analysts to exchange ideas on anything finance and create their own research outputs together.

What we are looking for:
● Deep interest towards business and finance, with knowledge on financial modeling, fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and market research creation
● Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate teamwork
● Showcases leadership qualities such as responsibility, proactiveness, and empathy
● Able to commit 8 hours per week

We have two rounds to select members – stock pitch and interview. We care more about efforts than knowledge and skills.

Currently we have 50 junior analysts and 10 senior analysts.
